ROGER
MOORHOUSE was born in Stockport, Cheshire, in 1968 and educated
in Berkhamsted and Portsmouth. Inspired by the events of 1989,
he enrolled in the School of Slavonic and East European Studies
of London University in 1990 to study history and politics. He
graduated in 1994 with an MA. He is currently reading for a PhD
in modern German history at the University of Strathclyde.
Roger Moorhouse has been senior researcher and editorial
assistant to Professor Norman Davies since 1995. This working
relationship culminated in 2002 with the publication, in three
languages, of a co-authored study of the history of the city of
Wroclaw (Breslau) entitled Microcosm - Portrait of a Central
European City.
Roger Moorhouse works as a freelance researcher, translator
and writer. A specialist in modern German and Central European
History, he is also a regular book reviewer for numerous publications
and an occasional contributor to the BBC History Magazine.
He is currently researching for his next book.
He is married with two children and lives in Buckinghamshire
